The minimum durability thresholds are designed to ensure confidence that a harness will withstand forces generated from sudden stops while minimizing distractions from traveling pets. Unrestrained pets cause more than 30,000 accidents each year. Travel responsibly with your pets! Independent lab tests revealed that few pet safety harnesses could withstand 10% of the forces generated from sudden stops or accidents. The X-Large Harness has been tested to withstand forces up to 4,400 pounds!

The complete harness system comes equipped with adjustable safety tether and two high-grade aluminum carabiners. The harness is durable but lightweight and comfortable. One of the carbiners (mountain climbing gear) hooks through the loop where your seat belt receiver latching mechanism is located (see pictures and video below). The Chest Plate is made of Chloroprene Rubber and provides support and extra comfort where research has shown it is needed! The rest of the harness is made out of very strong and durable 600 denier polyester.
